      Marilyn Hayes has moved on from a messy divorce and is living her dream as a baker in Key West. Her little slice of paradise doesn't seem so sweet, though, when one of Marilyn's pie-shop regulars is poisoned and Marilyn's daughter becomes the prime suspect. Despite an uncooperative and unsympathetic police presence, Marilyn is determined to clear her daughter's name. When her investigation reveals that her daughter has been hiding a darker side, however, Marilyn realizes that the truth might be more than she can stomach. Prescott (A Brew Most Bitter) starts off her "Key Lime Cozy" series with this quick but compelling culinary conundrum. A story this short can't help but be fast paced, though there is still plenty of fun to be had. Narrator Sara Hannan's sedate, straightforward delivery exemplifies the intrepid leading lady and her amateur investigative efforts. VERDICT Will appeal to listeners seeking a quirky, concise cozy mystery that is deliciously diverting. Recommended for fans of Jenn McKinlay, Ellie Alexander, and Diane Mott Davidson.--Lauren Hackert
